Jeffrey Epstein was a wealthy financier who was arrested in 2019 on federal charges for sex trafficking minors. His crimes continue to remain a topic as of today, after his death. Although Epstein died in August 2019, many people are still talking about the allegations of how he was connected to powerful people, such as famous artists, and especially Donald Trump. The public still wonders what might be uncovered as they continue to find so much new information about Epstein and Trump. After the DOJ released the files, people have discovered how much worse of a person Epstein is than what they heard before his arrest. There are still conspiracies and debates about whether the famous artist in these files could have been involved in everything he has done to these minors or not.

This concerned many people, wondering why the governments hid these files from us. Abisai Rosales, a person I interviewed, said, “I think that the reason they are barely releasing these things about Trump and Epstein is so that they can cover up Trump … our own government lies to us.” In other words, he believes that our own government is cheating us, and the system is showing us how corrupt they are. While this has been an ongoing case, people wonder if there will be consequences for the people involved in the horrible things that Epstein did. Miyah Chavez believes, “As much as they leak the stuff they did to minors, no one is getting in trouble, so I don’t think they’ll do anything to the president or the people because they are rich.” Given both interviews, public sentiment seems to be that the Government is being run by very bad people, and as much as we try to do something about what’s going on, we don’t have much authority over the government or the president. Although this may seem shocking, the most we can do now is to keep exposing them and to keep speaking up about this until something is and will be done.
