The 2025-2026 Cavers Boys Varsity Basketball is 10-11 in mid-January. Two players shared their own assessment of the season so far and their hopes for the remaining games. They shared some of the challenges they have faced during the 25/26 basketball season up until this point. One recent game—January 13th against Cathedral Catholic, a loss of 39-74—greatly influenced their feelings.
“A couple of challenges I’ve faced [this season] are injuries,” said forward Jaden Webb, a senior. In addition to his knee injury, Webb adds that there are some organizational challenges that have also affected him this season. He says the team is working hard to hold each other accountable. They’re looking for improvements in physicality and awareness on the court.“I’d say the season so far has been rocky for me, and I can’t speak for anyone but myself, but as a team we have our doubts,” Webb added. “I feel discouraged, and I’m just kind of sad this season. I had higher hopes.”
Some of these concerns were echoed by guard Landon Cullins. Even a couple of injuries can have a significant impact in the Caver’s league, given the competitiveness of the other teams. “I’d say our biggest challenges are injuries to the team,” Cullins said. “Guys can’t stay in front of the ball; it is what it is.”
When asked his opinion on the season despite the challenges, Cullins said he has seen growth in the team over the season. His emotions over this 25-26 season, he admits, have been a bit of a rollercoaster. He believes the greatest opportunities for improvement are in practice.
“We have to embrace these challenges,” said Cullins.
