On September 15th, San Diego High School’s hallways felt less like a school and more like a fashion runway. You could see oversized hoodies, jorts, and sneakers everywhere you turned, but at the same time, students made sure their looks didn’t blur and blend into one another.
An explosive amount of graphic tees and accessories stood out. Using backpacks, handheld water bottles, and jewellery to make even the simplest of outfits feel different. Comfort seemed like the biggest theme people were going for, seeing a lot of sweats and slides. Mixed into this theme was a special creativity that made each student’s walk into their class a fashion show that showcased a new, unique look. There wasn’t one dominating style. It was a collection of personalized styles mixed into the main theme of comfort. Since the weather is still hot, you can tell that, amongst the popularity of oversized hoodies and sweatpants, lighter clothes have also been a main move. Shorts, crop tops, and tanks are still popular.
Even in the heat, students keep experimenting, proving that fashion here isn’t really about seasons, but it’s about expression.
