The volleyball game between San Diego and CVLCC started at 5:51 p.m. in the muggy San Diego High School gym.
This game was different from previous games San Diego has played this season, as it was the first in which their transfers could be on the floor and show their strengths. This enabled them to bring more support by being on the court and not just cheering from the sidelines. The energy of this game was felt by everyone, especially the families in the stands. This uplifted the team and helped the players on the court fight even harder.
This rebuilding year finds the team full of underclassmen working hard to find their connection on the court. This was their 3rd home game and the energy that has been in these games has been amazing. They always keep going and fight hard no matter what happens, making super fun games to watch.
This game went to 3 sets: the first set was 14-25, the second set was 16-25, and the last set was amazing to watch, going to 23-25. This game was so fun to watch and with the transfers on the court, that changed everything. Speaking with two attendees, both said that the transfer athletes were able to bring new energy on the court that made the game even better.
The Varsity team will have home games on Tuesday, 9/23/25, against LMEC and Thursday, 9/25/25, against Morse High. Both games are scheduled to begin at 6:00 p.m.
Cavers looking to enjoy additional games should be sure to attend Freshmen and JV games, which start at 4:00 p.m. on the same dates as the Varsity games.
